LUCÍA VALVERDE
Director & Screenwriter
European film director and screenwriter, based between Madrid (Spain), her hometown, and Luxembourg, where she grew up and has developed a solid career in the international film industry for the past 15 years.
She has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Master's in Filmmaking from ESCAC Film School, and an Official MA in Screenwriting from UNIR.
She directed her first short film 'Papá te quiere mucho' in 2011 with the support of ICAA, selected in Film Festivals around the world such as the Festival Internacional de Cine de Huesca and Festival de Cine de Medina del Campo. In 2014 she directed 'The Heat Wave' with the support of Film Fund Luxembourg, which premiered at Montreal World Film Festival, won a Special Mention of the Jury in Zaragoza Film Festival and was the most seen short film in FIBABC Short Film Festival. Her short film 'Toi aussi ça te chatouille?', with the support of Film Fund Luxembourg was selected in more than 50 International Film Festival and received 8 Awards. She also produced, wrote and directed the documentary 'Detrás de los Hilos' and the short film 'Oxitocina', both also selected and awarded in Film Festivals around the world.
She directed one of the episodes of 'EX AEQUO' TV DOC SERIES for FRANCE TV, RTBF & RTL Luxembourg on cuban boxer NAMIBIA FLORES RODRIGUEZ.
She is currently writing her first feature film CAMPEONA, produced by Red Lion with the support of Film Fund Luxembourg, which was part of the screenwriting Lab CineNido in 2025.
